I quit sugar – week 6

I quit sugar – week 6 – I was allowed to add some sweetness back. Raspberries, blueberries, kiwi fruits… And I had some. ONE raspberry at Ekka tour and a handful of blueberries to be exact. I don’t have fruit cravings anymore and they taste too sweet to me.

I like people reactions when I tell them “I’m not having a dessert, I quit sugar”. Pity, disbelief, compassion… You name it. And it usually ends up with “oooh, it doesn’t taste that good anyway” said by them to make me feel better.

After 6 weeks I feel cured. I feel safe around sugar and sweets. I can smell things, appreciate how good they look but I don’t want them at all. I’m really proud of myself at this point.

I expanded my no-sugar-desserts repertoire – finally found a chocolate sweetened with stevia and bought rice malt syrup to make some raspberry ripe.

    You’ve inspired me to try this again, I always fall f the band wagon. But I just got diagnosed with prediabetes (Eughhh – I thought it was only overweight people 🙁 !) so no sugar would equal low gi.

    Do you find it hard to not taste as you go with recipes?
