Il locale – new Italian restaurant in Brisbane by Mark and Narelle Tognini opened last week in Rosalie. It offers crispy-base pizzas baked in the wood fired oven, slow cooked meats and of course – pasta. Large selection of Italian wines is also available by glass, carafe and bottle.
It all stated with the door – said Mark during the opening party speech – I said, I want a good location for this door. And the design and style direction started from there. It resulted with a warm, welcoming space. Timber was used throughout and some impressive gadgets added – like beautiful shiny-red slicer from Verona.
During the party we sampled several kinds of pizza (I adored the cheese), super-moist arancini with olives and mozzarella, buckwheat pasta and my winner-dish: risotto with beef cheek.
We were invited guests at the opening party. All photos and opinions, like always, are my own.
