Homemade Bounty

If you’re a Bounty fan, you’re gonna love it!

I love everything coconut and everything chocolate, so there isn’t probably anything better in the world for me, than Bounty chocolate bar. And when I only have opportunity to make it by myself, it’s getting even more awesome! 🙂

This time I tried to have more fun than just making not-perfectly-round balls or cutting it into cubes. I used IKEA ice cube tray – it turned out to be a pretty good idea, just the shape wasn’t the best. Something more rounder might have worked better. What’s wrong with the stars shape? It’s really hard to cover it with chocolate and it’s very easy to break it.

Recipe is from A cat in the kitchen website, I just added one extra ingredient from myself – Malibu Rum.

Ingredients:

200 gram unsweetened desiccated coconut
100 ml thickened cream
70 g icing sugar
70 g unsalted butter
2 tsp Malibu (it’s optional, but I highly recommend to add this 🙂 )
150 g milk chocolate

Combine coconut with icing sugar in a large bowl.

Put cream, butter and Malibu in a pot and heat until the butter is melted. Pour the mixture over the coconut and icing sugar. Mix well.

Using ice cube tray or your hands, form any shape you want. Put in the fridge for 1 hour (to stiffen).

Melt the milk chocolate and cover each coconut bar. Let them harden in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.

These are fantastic. There is nothing I like more than coconut and chocolate. You really knocked this out of the park. I am so impressed.
